BJC Missouri Baptist Hospital - Residency Clinic
Project Description:
The vision of BJC’s Missouri Baptist Medical Center is to lead in clinical excellence, compassionate care, and growth to meet the needs of the communities it serves. Located on the main campus as an expansion of the Clinical Learning Institute, the new MBMC Internal Medicine Residency Clinic translates this vision into built form as an interior fit-out of former shell and tenant office space. The clinic is a place where learning and patient care go hand in hand. Residents will work closely with experienced physicians from BJC Medical Group and WashU Medicine to provide thoughtful, high-quality care for adults.
LNB’s design team envisioned three purposeful zones for the project area that incorporates a patient-centric layout with on-stage/off-stage workflow for the Residents . Clinical spaces for patient access and care, program management offices convenient to staff, and spaces specifically segregated for Resident support. Biophilic aspects of bringing exterior views and natural light were incorporated into exam rooms, clinical staff spaces, offices for program managers, and a Lounge for the residents. Finishes with natural aspects and art work focusing on the local botanical garden help bring the outside in places without natural light. LNB met frequently with the project team to expedite the schedule. Existing rooms that were to remain blend seamlessly into the workflow of the new clinic layout.
