Project Description:

The challenge of this hospital addition and renovation project was creating a functional link between BJC Christian Hospital’s helipad and the bed tower. LNB Studio created a plan that worked within the constraints of the existing structures, which included navigating the link around stairwells and making improvements throughout: meeting ADA compliance, analyzing EPDM roof drainage patterns, reducing structural weight, and incorporating a fall safety apparatus. The helipad link today blends seamlessly into the hospital’s design and structure, both in its appearance and supportive functionality.
