Dual-Branded Hampton Inn / Hilton Hotel
Operational Efficiency.
Operationally independent by design, the new Hampton Inn was constructed immediately adjacent to the existing St. Louis Airport Hilton, creating a distinctive dual-branded hospitality configuration understood to be the first of its kind in the Midwest. The project allows select guest and staff amenities to be shared internally while maintaining separate branding and operations for each hotel.
A key project challenge was connecting the new Hampton Inn to the existing Hilton at the two lowest levels while the Hilton remained fully operational. This required careful site verification, selective demolition, coordinated sequencing, and architectural solutions that allowed the buildings to function together internally without disrupting hotel operations or compromising either brand’s identity.
Working with Lawrence Group Project Architect Greg Trost, LNB provided site verification, architectural design options for the complex building interface, and building code and accessibility reviews for both hotel areas. LNB was also primarily responsible for the exterior skin during Design Development and Construction Documents, including the main entrance canopy, Hampton brand coordination, design-build engineering coordination, and select interior plan revisions.
The completed project demonstrates how two hotels can remain distinct in brand and function while sharing amenities that improve the guest experience and support operational efficiency.
