This project serves as new Crisis Stabilization Center located within an existing Compass Health Network facility. It serves and addresses a specific aspect of a community behavioral healthcare project that assists the underserved, underinsured and uninsured in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The goal is to provide a safe and less costly healthcare alternative for individuals and is emphasized through the architectural design, which allows for further observations and the connecting of individuals to ongoing care.
The Crisis Stabilization Centers will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There will be a “No Wrong Door” entry program that provides rapid access to triage, stabilization services, and linkage to appropriate community services for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Features of the centers include but are not limited to intake, observation areas with comfortable recliners for rest, locker room and shower facility, meals, clean clothes, medications if needed, and support spaces for staff and first responders.
